Here is a copy of an email I just sent to the people who signed up for a free membership and I am their Community Sponsor.

I ask them if they are still interested in working at home, and if they are, I ask why they have not applied for any contracts, or completed everything they can do to be ready for a contract offer from a client.

In this economy I like everyone else am trying to find ways to make more money while at the same time cut expenses.  Today I just canceled my movie channels from my cable suppler.  I could not justify the expense anymore.

I already save thousands of dollars a year because I do not have to own a car and pay the heavy price of time and money that most people have to bear on a day to day basis to get to and from work.   So I am very lucky to be able to have been able to work at home for the last 4 years.

I hope this post will help you have some hope that there is real work at home opportunities, and give you a little more information about how things work on the ContractXchange system.

You will find my contact information below at the bottom of this post.

Please read this message completely.

Hello Friend,

I was thinking of calling you personally, but I decided to send you this email to find out if you are still interested in getting a work at home job.

If you are not, please respond to this email with the words “Not Interested” in the subject line.   I will send you an email to advise you that I have received your request and will not contact you again.

If you are still interested, please keep reading!

PLEASE NOTICE THIS!!

While I encourage you to apply for jobs and take the steps to get remote certified I do not want you to spend any money on this until you get an Invitation to Train and you have accepted it and have registered for your training!

Once you have gone thru the steps to get Remote Certified and have applied to the contracts you are interested in you will know what you need to be ready, and if you have any question you can contact me, my information is at the bottom of this, or call the Career Desk for help.

I want you to be ready to get the item you need to start working on the network and know how much it will cost and how long it will take for your supplier to deliver them to you.

You do not have to buy a new computer to work on this network – my computer, the one I am using is the same one I had on day one when I got my membership.

You can probably buy a similar machine in your local area for about $200.00 without a monitor, so if your machine is less than 3 years old and is a desktop machine you should be ok.

The only upgrade you may want to do is to beef up the computer memory (RAM) after you start working. I have a suggestion tool to find out what you have and it will give you a suggested upgrade for you automatically.  Send me an email and I will send it to you.

This type of upgrade is really a good thing to do anytime and really is a no-brainer.  You will be very happy with the upgrade and the performance of the computer after the upgrade.  Consult with your computer technician.  I was with mine.

So if you choose to spend money on this before getting a contract that will be your business decision and totally up to you.

I don’t want you to spend any money without a good reason.

As a long time contract agent I know all the tips trick and techniques necessary to land a contract on the ContractXchange network. And I can help you!

I know that the job postings have been scarce during the last year.  We recently had a new client added to the network- Momentium.

I talked to my team leader at ContractXchange and she told me that there will be another English language client arriving on the network.

I do not have any details at this time because as a contract agent I learn about the new clients usually at the same time as you do.
The Problem
I am a Community Sponsor for over 270 people.

Out of that number only a small percentage of people have even applied for a job contract on the ContractXchange system.

The number is also small for the number of people who have gotten Remote Certified.

So I have a question.   When people say they are so eager to get a work at home job, why are they not applying for contracts?

Where they serious?

Are they waiting for the perfect job posting before applying?

Are they checking their membership site to see if there are any contracts available?

I realize that it is not easy to keep track of all the details of this busy lifestyle we have and like most things it’s usually out of sight out of mind.

The will not ever be a perfect contract that will be exactly what everyone wants so quit waiting!

Let us face the fact that if you don’t apply for a contract you will not get a contract so why not go ahead and apply, it does not cost you any money to apply, just a little bit of time!

Here’s what I suggest you do right away:

  1. Log into your membership site.
  2. Look at the current job postings if any are available, and the contracts on the waiting list. Then go ahead and apply to all of the contracts that interest you and that you qualify for.

Generally if you have good computer skills and have good customer service skills you should be good for most contracts.

You will see that there is a direct relationship to the pay level and the difficulty of the job.

The higher the pay the more involved the work is and the training classes are longer to accommodate the extra information you will need to learn.

You may say “Why should I apply to the contracts on the waiting list?”

The reason you should do this is that when you apply to the contract on the waiting list you are putting your job search on auto pilot.  You don’t have to log into your site unless you want to and you won’t miss anything.

I have had as many as 8 different contracts at one time!  I got most of them by applying to a waiting list rather than applying to a current job posting.  I got my resume and audition in front of the clients.

When the clients need agents the people who make this effort have a big advantage over the people who wait for a job posting before applying!

3.       Get Remote Certified

This step is very important to your success.

While you can get a free membership and apply to any contracts you qualify for, to register for training you have to be Remote Certified.

You can receive an “Invitation to Training” from a client but until you are Remote Certified you will not be able to register for the training to nail down the contract.

The Career Desk will not send you the information you need to register and pay for the training.

This is why the existing agents usually can get most of the new contracts because most of the new members overlook this important step in the process.

An existing agent can simply accept the invitation and register and get the contract, but a new person who did not do this step will not usually be ready and miss out on the contract offer.

Experienced contract agents can sit back and pounce on any contract that they get offered by a client because they are already Remote Certified and most new people who want to compete for these contracts are not ready.

I want you to be ready!

It only takes about a half hour to do the three online tests, and about a day for the Career Desk to post the results in your membership site.

If one of the tests fail doesn’t worry, you can retake the test.   However do not assume what the problem was with the test.  Call or chat with a Career Desk agent and find out the problem and correct it, then do the test over to get certified.

Once you are Remote Certified you will be able to respond they same way to a contract invitation the same as an existing agent on the network can!

Do not put this step off!

Why?

Here’s a real example:

CAA wanted 48 new contract agents to take roadside emergency calls.

Clients usually want those contracts filled and the agents trained quickly, because they need the help or why would they do the posting.   So usually when a client decides the want to start the search for new agents they usually look at the people who have applied on the waiting list.   Typically when the new job posting is setup on the membership site the client will send out an “Invitation to Train” email to the people who have applied to the waiting list that they feel would be good agents for them.  In most cases the training classes are filled very quickly by the people who took action and applied to the waiting list, while the people who did nothing get nothing because they were not ready.

This is what happened with the 48 positions CAA wanted filled.

300 people applied for the position.

100 people were selected by CAA and sent “Invitations to Train”.

80 of those people accepted the invitation to train and got the email from the Career Desk on how to register and pay for their training.

At this point in the process it’s first come, first serve.  The 48 contract and seats in the 4 training classes were gone in less than 4 hours!

The people who get the email from the career desk and take action get the contracts.

The only way that you cannot work for the client at this point is one of three possible things.

  1. Your computer and associated equipment does not pass the tech support call that is arranged before your training.  This call will test your office phone to see if it will receive calls from the server successfully, test the DVD that is sent to you to access the client’s system.  If the client is using Windows to access their system the tech installs it for you and tests it.
  2. You fail the training course.  If you cannot understand the material that is given to you during the training we cannot expect the instructor to pass you.  The trainer and the client are dedicated to helping you succeed so this does not happen very often.
  3. You do not complete the training or attend all the classes.  I don’t think I have to explain this.

There are no refunds for the training courses.  The reason for this is that there are significant costs involved in the preparation of the system and your training.  This includes the services of tech support, the career desk, and the class trainer.  All of your work and training are all online.

This saves you the travel and expense of going to a class room to attend class.  When I first started I had to attend classes in my local area, the online classes are much more efficient and makes this system available to more people.

“There is no such thing as a free lunch.”  The people who give you the training and work at technical support and the career desk are also contract agents and have done these same steps to get their contracts.

Once you complete your training you will be able to get your contract and send a signed copy to your client.

Your classification will then change to Network Certified from Remote Certified.

After your client changes your status to a live agent, (usually the same day you finish training) you will gain access to the online Shift Board and be able to take shifts from there until you set up your profile and your first schedule is posted.

So what do I have to do to get Remote Certified?

It only takes about a half an hour to do the steps to do the work to get Remote certified.   There are 3 online tests:

1. Online Typing test.

The network requirement is 20 words per minute which is not hard to do.

2.  A Belarc Test.

This is a system hardware test.  You simply download a program that will take a snapshot of your computer’s equipment and you will upload it to your membership site.
The Career Desk will look at it and determine if your system meets the network standards necessary to work on the network.

3.  An Internet Speed Test.

You need a fast internet provider to work on this network.  Cable providers usually will give you the fastest speeds.

If you want to look for an internet provider in your area you may be able to find one by going to http://canadianisp.com.  You can find an ISP in your local area there.

Ask other people who are using the service for their satisfaction with the service and see if you can get a speed test done.

You can do an internet speed test here:

http://myvoipspeed.visualware.com/index.html

Select a city on the map near where you live when you start your test.

This will bring an animated graph, click on the “Click to start test” button on the upper left of the graphic to start the test.

When it is done it will give you the results, you may want to write down the result for later use.

Click on the Summary Tab to see what the report says about your speed.  It will tell you about your download speed, upload speed (this is important as well) and quality of service.

Take more tests at different time of the day to see if there are large fluctuations in the level of service and load in your area.

If you are getting yellow lights in this area you may want to take a record of what you got to your current internet provider and give them the opportunity to improve their service.

If you do not have a fast and reliable internet connection you will probably have a bad experience working online until it is fixed.
I feel that the network standards are not set high enough.  I believe that the minimum internet speed should be at lease between 6000 and 8000 kbps download speed, and close to 1000 kbps upload speed, with at least a 95% quality of service score.

When you first start working online the last thing you need is internet problem when starting with a new client.

You can do all these steps within your membership.

The Career Desk people look at the results of this test and post the results to your membership usually within a day.

One you have got the results and one of the items have failed don’t assume that you know what the problem is, or it can’t be fixed.

Contact the Career Desk and ask them what the problem was and find out what can be done to correct the problem.

Once you have corrected the problem, take the test that failed again and re-submit it.

Once this passes you are done, you are Remote Certified!  Now you have the same ability as a current agent on the network to register for the contract training.

To help you I have made some videos to assist you with all of the steps in getting an online contract position.
